Overall, the collection includes Ottawa-area history and genealogy resources, books written about Ottawa, an extensive collection of local historical documents, and a broad selection of historical and literary works by Ottawa authors. It encompasses more than 25,000 books, documents and reports, dating from 1856 to the present day, microforms, community newspapers, and over 500 high school yearbooks. Also included are biographies of every city mayor, genealogies, antique maps, and old photographs.
