Fact a day 4: Rideau Branch of Ottawa Public Library

Sir Robert Borden, when opening Rideau Branch: “I now declare this library open for service of the community and I hope that more and more as the years go by you may learn of its usefulness and value.”

Songs sung at the Rideau Branch opening: two solos by Yvette Tremblay (one in French, one in English), a Scottish song (it was Burns Night) and a Negro spiritual.
